What are the typical duties of a Nanny?

The main responsibility of a Nanny is to create a safe and stimulating environment for the children in your care. Activities like bathing and dressing, changing nappies and potty-training (if age-appropriate), children’s laundry, planning meals, preparing food and/or feeding the children are common things that could be expected of you.

However, it doesn’t stop there. You are usually responsible for organising indoor and outdoor games, educational activities, or crafts. Some families might want you to be able to pick up the kids from school or bring them to school. After-school activities and light household activities may also be part of the daily nanny routine.

Since the needs of the families vary on a case-to-case basis, the nanny’s duties should be discussed and clarified with each family prior to agreeing to work for them.
