Hello!
I am Olivia, a 34 year old teacher and nanny originally from London, UK. I am the eldest child of a family of four, and since a very early age have understood the responsibility and patience required of childcare. Since my teenage years, I have cared for young children, then later in my early 20s, I started teaching in schools here in Berlin – my first job being as a language assistant in a Gymnasium in the English and Art department. I have a degree in Modern Languages, am also qualified as an ELT teacher, and have just completed a teaching dipoma in Art and Design.
Throughout the years, I have worked with children of all ages; from babies to todders to older children, tending to their everyday needs as individuals, providing an enriching and dynamic approach to their needs. I have worked extensively in schools and summer camps as a language teacher directing activities and running creative projects for young adults aged 11-17.
Three years ago, I completed a certification in Expressive Arts Therapy and Facilitation whereby I gained a deeper understanding of art within a broader psychological context, focusing on play as a container for creative exploration within a group setting. My range of experience has granted me with a firm understanding of the skills required to work with children. I seek always to create and develop a way of working which focuses on the individual needs, personality and pace of each child, ensuring they feel safe and understood, thereby allowing them to thrive and grow.
My most recent role was as a nanny to a lively 15-month-old toddler, providing daily care, preparing meals, and supporting his development through age-appropriate activities and play.
