Hi, I’m Miranda 🙂
I’m a creative educator and artist who has recently moved to Berlin from the UK. I grew up in London and have also spent 5 years living and working in the North of England.
I’m passionate about working with children and creating a warm, playful environment where they can feel comfortable, curious and free to explore. I love learning through creativity, experimentation and play, and I really enjoy following children’s interests and seeing where their imaginations take them.
I have experience working with children of different ages through my work with charities such as Mencap, where I supported children and young people through inclusive arts and play, as well as through my work as a cultural producer and curator. At Art Gene in the North of England, I developed and delivered creative and educational programmes for children, families and schools, often bringing together art, nature, storytelling and hands-on making. I’ve also gained childcare experience through babysitting, caring for my husband’s two younger brothers, and through many years working as a carer and play worker. These experiences have taught me to be patient, attentive, adaptable and supportive of different needs.
I’m an artist myself, so I naturally love getting creative with children. I particularly enjoy clay, crafts, drawing, making things, reading stories and imaginative play. I also love being outdoors – going for walks, exploring parks and playgrounds, swimming, and turning everyday activities into little adventures!
I’m currently learning German myself (A2), so I’d particularly love to work with an English-speaking family or with a child who is learning English. I know how much fun it can be to learn a new language through everyday life, and I’d be delighted to make English feel natural and enjoyable through play, stories, activities and conversation.
