Dear Host Family,

My name is Triona, I am 29 years old and I am from Ireland. I have recently qualified as a General Nurse and am now preparing for the next exciting chapter of my life: moving to Germany to continue my nursing career.

Germany has become very important to me over the past few years. Through spending time there, building friendships, and experiencing the culture firsthand, I have developed a genuine love for the country and a strong desire to make it my home. My long-term goal is to work as a registered nurse in Germany, and I am currently working towards achieving the language requirements needed for professional registration.

To practise nursing in Germany, I need to become proficient in German. While I am studying the language formally, I believe there is no better way to learn than through everyday life and conversation. This is one of the main reasons I am seeking a position with a German host family. Being with a family would allow me to immerse myself in the language, improve my communication skills naturally, and gain a deeper understanding of German culture and daily life.

I am looking for a live-out position, as I already have accommodation arranged and am not seeking a live-in role. In addition to my nursing qualification, I am first aid trained and hold a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). These qualifications have strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to support and teach others in a calm and encouraging way.

As a qualified nurse, caring for others is at the heart of who I am. My training and professional experience have taught me patience, responsibility, empathy, and how to remain calm and dependable in all situations. I enjoy supporting people, helping them feel safe and cared for, and building trusting relationships. These qualities naturally extend to working with children and supporting families in their daily routines.

I would describe myself as warm, reliable, organised, and easy to get along with. I enjoy travelling, staying active, reading, learning new things, and experiencing different cultures. I am independent and adaptable, and I look forward to becoming a positive and helpful member of a host family.

For me, becoming an au pair or nanny is about much more than employment. It is an opportunity to build meaningful connections, contribute to family life, improve my German language skills, and take an important step towards my future career in Germany. I would be grateful for the chance to support your family while learning and growing through this experience.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter. I look forward to hearing more about your family and hopefully becoming part of your daily life.

Kind regards,

Triona Brennan
