Hello and welcome!
My name is Gabriela Flores Weyandt.
With a strong background in after-school programming and a lifelong fluency in both English and Spanish, I am confident in my ability to provide your children with a safe, educational, and nurturing environment.
While my professional background is rooted in after-school care, I have extensive experience managing the daily needs of children, including supervising activities and homework assistance. My time spent volunteering with children with special needs has also taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and creating a supportive space tailored to each child’s unique personality. As a native speaker of both Spanish and English, I offer a unique educational advantage. My deep understanding of Spanish grammar and phonetics has actually made me a more effective English teacher; I can identify exactly where a student might struggle with English sentence structure by comparing it to their Spanish roots. This allow me to bridge the gap for children who are learning English as a second language, or help English-speaking children become comfortably bilingual through immersive conversation and homework support. I am a big believer in “learning by doing,” whether that is practicing vocabulary while we cook together or working through tough homework problems after school. I am eager to bring my energy and bilingual expertise to your home to help your children grow and thrive.
