I’m offering my time here at Nanny Native because I enjoy working with children. I have worked in the corporate world for some time now and miss the energy I get from spending time with children. Yes, physically it may be exhausting, but emotionally it’s fulfilling. I have worked as a tennis coach throughout my studies in the U.S. and worked with children ages 3-18. I was in charge of the lessons and would have 4-8 kids on my court. We were able to have fun, while still learning and progessing in the game, which requires dicipline. Though dicipline at this age can often be disguised in the right game or setting a timer for ball pickup;)<\/p>\n
I’ve also worked as a summer camp counselor where I was assigned a group of 10 year old girls who I was responsible for 24\/7. I woke them up, made sure they made their beds and packed their bags, assisted at lunch and dinner and kept them entertainment with games, sports, arts, and crafts. <\/p>\n
Aside from these positions, I worked as a babysitter during my graduate degree and did 12-hour shifts 7 days straight and then 7 days off. The mother was a doctor and worked alternating weeks. She had 2 boys (5 and 7 y\/o) and 1 girl (2 y\/o) that I looked after for the whole day. I would wake them up, bathe them, make breakfast, lunch, and dinner and keep them enternained throughout the day. The boys were in online school, so I also had to ensure they were at their mini-desks on time and completed their homework.<\/p>\n
I’m actively pursuing a doctorate in counseling psychology and would love to use this year to do meaningful work, which is why I am transitioning from my corporate job. I’m open to a variety of families and have a flexible schedule.
