Dear Families,
My name is Laura, I’m 28 years old and I come from Italy. I’m passionate about pedagogy, languages, cultures, traveling, theater, and everything connected to art. I studied Educational Sciences and wrote my thesis on theater as a pedagogical method. After that, I moved to the Netherlands to experience a new culture, explore a different socio-pedagogical approach, and work as an au pair. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay, and I ended up living in the Netherlands for three years.
I grew up in a multicultural environment myself—my mother is Latin American—so my native languages are Italian and Spanish. While in the Netherlands, I also worked in fields outside of education. Those experiences taught me a lot, but most importantly, they made me realize that my true calling is to return to working with children and education.
And so, here I am in Germany! I moved here with my boyfriend (he’s Bavarian 😄), and we’ve decided to build our future together. I’m currently learning German and working towards the B2 level, so that I can officially work as an educator here.
